Trade Group Commends Senate For Confirmations Of FHA Commissioner And President Of Ginnie Mae

The Community Home Lenders of America (CHLA) released the following statement in response to the Senate confirmation of Frank Cassidy to be FHA Commissioner and Joe Gormley to be Ginnie Mae President.

“Affordable homeownership took a big step forward today with the Senate confirmations of Frank Cassidy to run FHA and Joe Gormley to run Ginnie Mae,” said Scott Olson, Executive Director for CHLA.

“Addressing concerns over spiraling housing costs has become one of Washington’s biggest priorities – and it is reassuring to know that these highly qualified individuals are now confirmed for these two critical positions.”

The Community Home Lenders of America (CHLA) is a national non-profit association that exclusively focuses on small and mid-sized community-based mortgage lenders.  The mission of the CHLA is to promote federal mortgage programs, rules, and regulations which treat community mortgage lenders fairly, and which reflect the critical importance that community mortgage lenders play in providing broad access to credit for borrowers, in increasing competition in mortgage markets, and in providing borrowers with quality mortgage services and access to loans at a local level.
