The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) announced a new partnership with the PREA Foundation that will focus on leading college students into deeper relationships with the commercial real estate (CRE) finance industry.

The MBA Opens Doors Foundation (Opens Doors) launched the MBA Opens Doors Disaster Relief Program, which will provide an additional $100,000 to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) to support the children and families impacted by the Southern California wildfires.

The gift will allow Opens Doors to further deliver on its mission of providing mortgage and rental assistance to families with critically ill or injured children, allowing parents and guardians to be by a child’s side during treatment without fear of losing their home.

The National REO Brokers Association (NRBA) says its members are reporting increased commercial real estate (CRE) foreclosure and resale activity as 2023 comes to an end. While much of the national focus is on distressed assets in the office space sector, more of the smaller, stand-alone structures that house small businesses are being repossessed and resold as well.
