Land Gorilla Unveils Intelligent Document Processing To Ease Construction Loan Process

Land Gorilla introduced Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), a new technology embedded in the Land Gorilla platform that eliminates manual data entry and dramatically reduces costs for construction lenders. Developed specifically for construction lending, IDP helps lenders streamline document-heavy processes that have traditionally slowed down draw approvals and project timelines.

Manual data entry remains one of the most time-consuming and error-prone aspects of construction lending, creating bottlenecks that hinder productivity. Land Gorilla’s IDP addresses these challenges by transforming documents into structured, usable data through intelligent automation.

Unlike traditional optical character recognition (OCR) tools that simply extract text, IDP analyzes context and uses algorithms to extract, organize, and validate key data, including handwritten entries. It then maps this data to workflows—such as budgets, draw requests, and inspection orders—before streamlining digitized files for review.

By eliminating manual document processing, IDP helps construction lenders improve efficiency and profitability. With IDP, construction lenders can:

  • Slash processing costs associated with processing large volumes of documents by cutting down on manual labor.
  • Accelerate draw turn times by digitizing and organizing documents more quickly, leading to faster fund disbursements.
  • Boost productivity by freeing staff from tedious document tasks, allowing them to focus on more impactful, high-value work.
  • Eliminate manual data input with easy adoption that creates a seamless, user-friendly experience for construction lenders and their clients.

“For too long, construction lenders have been bogged down by the inefficiency and expense of manual document processing,” said Land Gorilla CEO Sean Faries. “Our Intelligent Document Processing is a fundamental shift that puts an end to the data entry grind, unlocks significant cost savings, and accelerates timelines, so clients can focus on building stronger relationships with their borrowers.”

IDP is integrated across the Land Gorilla platform and powers core functions, including faster invoice processing, automatic budget population from uploaded files, and automated updates to draws and budget data based on draw request files, including AIA forms.

Beyond internal team efficiency, IDP significantly improves the customer experience for all stakeholders involved in the construction loan process. It simplifies document submissions for borrowers and builders, turning draw requests into a single upload, while enabling inspectors to instantly digitize handwritten inspection forms.
