Plaza Home Mortgage Helps American Red Cross Deliver Lifesaving Blood To Patients In Need
The need for blood doesn’t stop during the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. The American Red Cross Southern California Region collects lifesaving blood products from donors across SoCal and transports it to local hospitals to help patients in need. San Diego-based mortgage lender Plaza Home Mortgage® is helping make that journey possible by providing funding for a new Red Cross Blood Services community vehicle.

The new biomedical vehicle, made possible by funding from Plaza Home Mortgage, will be used to deliver blood products to hospitals from the Red Cross blood processing facility in Pomona. It will also be used to transport blood from collection sites and blood drives to the processing and distribution center in Pomona. From the Pomona facility, blood will be sent to hospitals across Southern California, and beyond.
