MISMO Announces Three New Board Members

MISMO announced the addition of three mortgage industry leaders to its Board of Directors: Anthony Hutchinson, Executive Vice President and Head of Public Affairs at VantageScore; Gemma Currier, Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategic Initiatives at Guild Mortgage Company; and Eric Lapin, Vice President, Head of Market Strategy and Intelligence at FICO.

The appointments were approved during the recent MISMO Fall Summit in Reston, Virginia. FICO, VantageScore, and Guild Mortgage are all Chair Champion Level members of MISMO.

MISMO’s Board of Directors provides strategic direction and oversight for the organization, helping ensure its priorities reflect the evolving needs of the mortgage industry. Representing perspectives from across the mortgage ecosystem, Board members guide MISMO’s efforts to develop, promote and drive adoption of standards and solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, support innovation and strengthen collaboration throughout the industry.

“The addition of Tony, Gemma, and Eric to our Board is another significant step forward for MISMO and its strategic goals,” said Brian Vieaux, President of MISMO. “These three leaders are tireless supporters of the mortgage industry, are highly regarded by their peers, and will bring valuable experience and perspective to our organization. Their leadership will greatly support our focus on increasing awareness and driving adoption and alignment across the mortgage ecosystem through the work of MISMO and its community of industry expert volunteers.”

The addition of leaders from VantageScore and FICO reflects MISMO’s continued prioritization of credit score and reporting modernization and its work to advance innovation, efficiency, and cost savings in mortgage loan manufacturing through standardization. As the mortgage industry implements new credit models, expanded data sources and artificial intelligence, greater alignment across the credit ecosystem will be essential to supporting responsible innovation and more efficient lending processes.

That focus was evident at the MISMO Fall Summit, where leaders from FICO, VantageScore, TransUnion, and Equifax joined Experian, which also holds a seat on the MISMO Board, for a wide-ranging credit panel. The discussion explored how each organization is approaching credit modernization, the growing impact of AI on credit decisioning, and the potential for more expansive data to strengthen credit modeling.

“I am honored to join the MISMO Board of Directors and serve alongside the leaders shaping the future of the mortgage finance industry,” said Hutchinson. “MISMO plays a critical role in establishing the standards and infrastructure that enable our industry to innovate, operate more efficiently, and better serve the housing market. I look forward to bringing my perspective to the Board and working collaboratively to advance innovation, competition, and modernization across the mortgage ecosystem, while ensuring that our collective efforts ultimately expand access and opportunity for consumers.”

Hutchinson brings nearly three decades of housing, financial services, and public policy experience, including previous leadership roles at Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and the National Association of REALTORS®. His experience working across the public and private sectors will strengthen MISMO’s engagement with policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders.

“The mortgage industry only moves forward when its pieces move together — origination, servicing, capital markets and technology,” said Lapin. “Standardization is what unites the ecosystem. I’ve spent my career connecting those stakeholders, and I’m honored to bring that experience to MISMO’s Board as we work to make modernization benefit the whole industry and the families it serves.”

Lapin brings extensive expertise in credit analytics, market intelligence, and the evolving role of data and technology in financial services. His perspective will help inform MISMO’s efforts to identify areas where greater standardization can support innovation throughout the credit and mortgage manufacturing processes.

“I am honored to join the MISMO Board of Directors and contribute to an organization that plays a vital role in advancing standards, collaboration, and innovation across the mortgage industry,” said Currier. “As technology continues to reshape our industry, I look forward to working with my fellow Board members to advance standards that enable greater interoperability, efficiency and innovation across the mortgage ecosystem.”

Currier brings extensive mortgage loan manufacturing and production expertise, strategic leadership experience, and deep relationships throughout the mortgage industry. Her practical lender perspectives will help MISMO ensure its standards, resources, and initiatives continue to address real-world business needs and deliver measurable value across the mortgage lifecycle.

The three new directors join MISMO’s Board at a time when the organization is expanding its work across credit, artificial intelligence governance, data quality, digital mortgage transformation, and other areas critical to the future of mortgage finance. Their combined experience will help guide MISMO’s strategy and strengthen collaboration among lenders, technology providers, credit organizations, regulators, government agencies, and other industry participants.
