WFG Launches National Builder Services Division

WFG National Title Insurance Company (WFG), a Portland-based, full-service provider of title insurance and real estate settlement services for commercial and residential transactions nationwide, has launched its National Builder Services division, which will provide escrow, title, and underwriting services to both regional and national homebuilders in all 50 states.

A national underwriter with an A rating for financial stability, a “world-class” Net Promoter Score (NPS) service rating, extremely strong reserves, and zero institutional debt, WFG has established company-owned direct operations serving more than 50 markets, a network of more than 1,750 title agents, a national lender services channel, and a commercial title division. According to WFG Executive Chairman and Founder Patrick F. Stone, expansion into the national builder marketplace was the next logical step for the company.

“The builder channel is vital to the residential real estate market, and we expect this market to pick up significantly within the next year and a half and to remain strong for years to come,” Stone said. “With the launch of our new division, we intend to support builders as we do in our other channels: by delivering best-in-class solutions and backing them with high-touch, personalized service. We’re all about making builders more efficient, which benefits all of us.”

In conjunction with the company’s National Builder Services launch, WFG recently appointed 20-year builder title services industry veteran Shaun Gonzales as president of the division.

“We are thrilled to have Shaun leading the charge for our new National Builder Services division,” said WFG President and CEO Steve Ozonian. “This is an important business channel for WFG and our industry, and Shaun knows it well. He understands builders and their unique business needs and is passionate about helping them be more successful.”

As president for WFG’s National Builder Services division, Gonzales will focus on developing builder business within the company’s direct operations and building a dedicated national operation to support major national homebuilders.

In addition to WFG’s national underwriter status and financial stability, Gonzales was attracted to WFG because of its experienced leadership team and steadfast, companywide commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience, epitomized by the company’s trademark “Three Cs.”

“‘I’m very grateful to be leading ‘WFG’s National Builder Services channel,” Gonzales said. “As a service provider and partner, it is our duty to add value to the home buying experience, and I look forward to harnessing ‘WFG’s unique philosophy of ‘Communication, Collaboration, and Co-‘existence’ to provide homebuilders with exceptional service and deliver a superior experience for their homebuyers.” Over the last 20 years, Gonzales has led organizations during new home surges and managed them during significant market downturns. Early in his career, he held positions as a top escrow officer/manager and a national process improvement director. Since 2012, he has served as National Vice President for a national title underwriter dedicated to the homebuilder space. Gonzales is proud of creating innovative technology products specifically for homebuilders, including pioneering digital closings with top builders across the country and developing departments for next-generation talent. He and his wife Sonia reside in Orange County, California, with their two sons, two-year-old Sebastian and newborn Skai.
