Interfirst Mortgage Company (Interfirst), a private equity-backed mortgage originator, announced that Pete Lunetto has been named Senior Vice President of Credit. He will be part of the Company’s executive leadership team and report directly to Karen Gerli, the Company’s Chief Operating Officer.
In this newly created executive position, Mr. Lunetto will have oversight for credit and underwriting activities for both the wholesale and retail channels. In his role, he will be responsible for mitigating risk, setting the credit strategy, assist in product development activities, process and productivity improvements, and day-to-day underwriting operations. Mr. Lunetto will also oversee a growing team of more than 70 credit and underwriting team members. Russ Therrell, Vice President of Underwriting Wholesale, and Lara Adams, Vice President of Underwriting Retail, will report directly to Mr. Lunetto.
Mr. Lunetto bring more than 30 years of mortgage industry experience to Interfirst, which includes credit risk management, credit policy, underwriting and quality control. Mr. Lunetto joins Interfirst after most recently serving as Chief Credit Officer for Royal Pacific Funding and previously Vice President of Enterprise Credit for loanDepot.
