Nationwide Property & Appraisal Services Appoints Ernie Durbin As SVP Of Valuation And Modeling

Nationwide Property & Appraisal Services LLC (NPAS) has appointed Ernie Durbin as Senior Vice President of Valuation and Modeling. In this role, Durbin will lead the strategic expansion of valuation methodologies and innovative solutions across the company’s nationwide footprint.

Durbin brings over four decades of valuation experience spanning appraisal practice, valuation technology, and industry leadership. He has held senior valuation roles at national valuation technology platforms, contributing to the development of proprietary tools used by lenders and institutional investors, and has led initiatives that combine data analytics with local market expertise. Earlier in his career, he managed a residential appraisal practice focused on complex valuation challenges in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Durbin holds the CRE designation from The Counselors of Real Estate and the SRA and AI-RRS designations from the Appraisal Institute. He has served on the Executive Council of the Collateral Risk Network and was recognized by his peers with the Valuation Visionary Award in 2018.

“Over the course of my career, valuation has given me lifelong relationships with appraisers, reviewers, lenders, regulators, and innovators who care deeply about credibility,” said Durbin. “Those experiences have shaped my guiding principle: valuation processes that are objective, transparent, and replicable—producing conclusions you can explain plainly and defend confidently. I’m excited to join NPAS and work with a strong team to develop next-generation alternative valuation solutions that blend practical judgment with disciplined, consistent methodology, so clients can trust not just the answer, but the reasoning behind it.”

Ernie’s involvement with national valuation initiatives includes serving on The Appraisal Foundation’s Industry Advisory Council and the Real Property Valuation Committee for the National Association of Realtors, where he contributed to policy discussions that impact valuation standards and practices. His background uniquely positions him to help Nationwide develop its valuation strategy in a market that is increasingly driven by technology, data, and risk-based decision-making.

“Ernie’s combination of strategic leadership, real-world valuation experience, and innovative thinking directly aligns with our growth plans,” said Mike Kirk, Chief Innovation Officer,  at Nationwide Property & Appraisal Services. “We are confident his work will further strengthen our valuation capabilities and deliver meaningful value to our clients.”
