MISMO Seeks Public Comment On New Blockchain Analysis
MISMO, the real estate finance industry’s standards organization, announced that it is seeking public comment on a new white paper titled, Blockchain in the Mortgage Industry. The white paper outlines findings about how blockchain technology could enhance the way mortgages are originated, serviced, sold, and traded by improving efficiency, enabling transparency, and increasing trust among market participants. The 60-day comment period runs through May 30, 2023.
Blockchain in the Mortgage Industry explores the use of blockchain technology and identifies how blockchain can be used within the mortgage industry by analyzing the following areas:
- Potential efficiencies
- Practical industry applications and use cases
- Keys to increasing adoption
- MISMO’s role in the exploration of the various aspects of blockchain technology and its use throughout the industry
This public comment period allows those who participated in the proposal at least 60 days’ notice prior to final release to review and disclose any applicable Patent Rights (as defined by MISMO’s 2018 Intellectual Property Rights Policy).
MISMO requests that any organization that may have any patent or patent applications, or other intellectual property rights that might be infringed upon by an organization that uses or is compliant with these proposed MISMO products, to disclose them at this time in writing. All comments and disclosures are due by May 30, 2023, and should be directed to [email protected].
